MY PHILOSOPHY
When I started teaching people how to take control of their eating habits and feed the body what it needs, I was absolutely amazed how people lost unwanted weight in addition to their health improving. I often tell people, “If you feed the body right, you will feel better, your body will show you how healthy it can be and how lean it can look.”
I consider FOOD anything that has nutrients that are healthy for your body AND has nutrients that your body can digest and use. I do not consider FOOD anything that has damaged fats, is processed with sugar or has unhealthy additives or anything that your body can not digest. You may wonder, “ How can this be tasty and not boring”. Well, I have found bread, tortillas, english muffins, pasta, mayonnaise, hamburger buns, beef hot dogs and tortilla chips that are very tasty and have no added sugar, damaged fats, chemicals, and no unsprouted flour. If you like FOOD such as yogurt, cream that is true cream, cheese, butter, peanut butter, almond butter, and nuts then you should be able to eat these. And the list goes on...... What I am seeing over and over with clients is when they start eating FOOD and nothing but FOOD their body starts to function right. They really don't experience cravings that make them want to binge because their body is satisfied and on top of all that, their health improves.
Most people believe that low-fat or non-fat means healthier. Through research there is a greater understanding of the importance fat plays in the body. If we didn’t eat fat, then we would never get the OMEGA 3 and OMEGA 6 Fatty Acids we need. Since our bodies can’t make these acids, we must consume them. Many people take a supplement or pill form, but why take a pill when OMEGA 3 and OMEGA 6 can be found in an easy-to-find snack food that you can eat on the go?
I help my clients identify healthy fats and toxic/damaged fats. Without these healthy fats, our bodies could not absorb certain vitamins. All of which are important for the body and mind. I will teach you how to look for and recognize the healthy fats and the toxic/damaged fats.
I remember when I was dieting and I would endure hunger if it occurred outside of my “scheduled” time to eat. I didn't want to eat when my body felt hungry because I was afraid I would gain the weight I was trying to lose. This led to binge eating. Now, I understand this is the biggest problem with dieting. Today, I believe, hunger pains are the body's way of telling us it needs more nutrients to function, NOT TO GAIN WEIGHT.
Remember: HEALTH FIRST WEIGHT SECOND! If the body feels hunger give it nutrients so your body can be healthy. DON'T deprive it because you’re afraid of gaining body fat/unwanted weight.
Again, what I want you to understand is that it is so important to give the body the nutrition it needs. If the body is hungry it is asking for nutrients.
People often think that eating healthy means being deprived, bored and missing out on social activities. I’ll show you that there are many healthy food alternatives to the unhealthy items you are already eating. Did you know there is a company that makes a delicious and nutritious tortilla chip; the only ingredient is whole grain corn. There are whole grain breads, such as raisin bread, no added sugar or fat and no chemicals. They taste delicious. I’ve got excellent recipes such as French Toast, Enchiladas,and Macaroni & Cheese to share with you!
Honestly, who wants to wake up every day eating food that is bland and just plain boring? I know I don't. When we remove unhealthy food choices, we replace them with tasty and healthy food that boosts energy, increases metabolism and controls cravings.
